278 rooms,Maswik Lodge is a modern facility spread over several acres of ponderosa pine forest, located just 1/4 mile from the Canyon's edge. Maswik Lodge features a cafeteria that is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Here you will also find a sports bar with a wide screen TV, a curio shop stocked with handicrafts and gifts, and a transportation/activities desk. All rooms at the lodge are motel-style rooms with two queen beds, a full bath, telephone, and television. Room sizes vary somewhat between the north and south sections of the lodge. North section rooms are a little more spacious than those in the south section. Roll-away beds are available on a first come first serve basis.
During the summer months Maswik Lodge also features cabins for a more rustic accommodation. These cabins are also equipped with television and telephone services. The cabins have two double beds and a shower. Rooms for guests with disabilities are available. Open year-round.
Rooms at Maswik Lodge South Section are standard motel-style rooms located in 2-story buildings. The buildings are located in a quiet area 1/4 mile from the rim of the Grand Canyon, easy walking distance from the rim. These rooms feature 2 Queen beds, full bath, TV, telephone, oscillating fan, refrigerator and coffee maker. Sleeps up to 5 people, adults or children . Rollaway or Crib OK. Pets and/or cooking are not allowed in the room. Rooms have exterior entrances.
There is no air conditioning in the rooms.
The elevation of Grand Canyon South Rim is 6900 feet above sea level. The highest average low temperature at night is 54 °F (12 °C) in July. So guests can normally stay comfortably in the rooms without air conditioning. These rooms are fully occupied year round.
